Mom Invents Hammock-Style Seat For Babies

Richmond Baby & Toddler Gear Examiner:

On a flight to New York with her infant daughter Kadie wanted to improve the experience she had with her baby while flying. “If only I had a place to lay her down to be able to interact with her, a place to change her diaper or a place for her to go to sleep,” says Kadie. She envisioned a light-weight, portable hammock-style seat that would give her a place to lay her daughter down on the plane. She took this idea home with her and with the help of family, she had the first “prototype” of FlyeBaby to use for her next flight with her baby. She got a lot of positive reaction from people on the plane and that opened the door for the possibility that this idea could become a family business!

As Kadie worked on the design of FlyeBaby they also came up with the idea of making FlyeBaby a universal product serving multiple needs for parents. “I consider myself a practical parent and I try to sort through the thousands of products out there claiming to make life with a baby easier. I had all of this in mind when designing FlyeBaby. From the beginning I wanted it to be a practical product that parents could relate to,” said Kadie. FlyeBaby was modified so that it can not only work on an airplane, but also on beach chairs, lounge chairs and dining room chairs. It acts as a make-shift high chair giving parents or grandparents a secure place to put their baby while they are on-the-go or at home.
