Jingle A Day Gets This Guy Paid

Hobby jingle maker Love Harnell is copying the model proven by I Wear Your Shirt – matching the social media sharing and the one-dollar-per-calendar-day-of-the-year surcharge – but substituting jingles for shirts, according to a story on Mashable.

With LoveJingles, which officially kicks off on January 1, 2010, Harnell will cover, write and perform jingles for paying brands and individuals, and then use social media and his blog to share the videos with the world. The price for the live or studio recordings depends on the day of the year. January 1 is just one dollar, but each day the price incrementally increases by an additional dollar, making the cost for December 31, 2010, $365.

LoveJingles is already a quick hit. The project is just over a week old, but it’s garnering the attention of many jingle-hungry brands and agencies across the world. Not only is January already sold out, but Yahoo’s even secured a slot for a 15th anniversary jingle on Monday, March 1, 2010. Harnell says that the little ditty is already a work in progress and expects it to be a “happy” tune.
