Cosi Donates Portion Of Sales To Friends Of The Wareham Free Library

Wareham Courier:

The Friends of the Wareham Free Library had a friend in Cosi Restaurant Sunday, Dec. 13. The popular restaurant, located at Wareham Crossing, donated 10 percent of its earnings between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to the Friends.

The Friends raise money for the library, and their efforts caught the attention of restaurant management.

“We believe in giving back to the community,” RJ Dourney, president and owner of Hearthstone Associates, a New England-based restaurant franchisee that owns the Cosi Restaurants in New England, said. “We believe that the right way to do business is to recognize how blessed we are to have countless folks in the community come in to our restaurants and support us. Morally and ethically, when you bring a business into the community, you should add to the community.”

Dourney is a 30-year veteran of the restaurant industry and serves on a number of for-profit and nonprofit boards including the Frisch’s Restaurants, Inc. Board of Directors and the Archdiocese of Boston’s Child Abuse Prevention Advisory Board.
