Damon’s Grill locations on Roosevelt Avenue in York and Eisenhower Drive in Hanover have closed.
A sign on the door Monday afternoon in York stated that “Due to the current economic times, we regret to announce the (closure) of this Damon’s Grill location.”
Denise Reinert McKeown, with Damon’s corporate owner G&R Management Services, said the two stores were owned by the same franchisee, who recently decided it made the most business sense to close the locations.
She also said that Damon’s had been working with the franchisee to make a go of the operations before the decision was made.
Reinert McKeown said the same person, who was not immediately available for comment Monday afternoon, also owns Damon’s locations in the Lancaster and Harrisburg areas.
Rumors had swirled in the Hanover area that the Damon’s could close earlier this year, prompting the business to have a “not going out of business sale” in the spring.
