Famous Dave’s of America Inc. has sold franchise rights for markets in Northern California and the Reno, Nev., region, a move that could expand the restaurant chain into those areas for the first time.
The Minnetonka-based barbecue restaurant chain said that a franchisee called Savory Investments had bought the rights to open four restaurants in California (including the Redding and Chico markets) and Nevada (including Reno and Sparks).
Famous Dave’s already has 12 restaurants in California and four in Nevada.
