Mary Kay Ladies See A Rise In Sales

WWSB ABC 7:

It seems women won’t give up looking great in a down economy. Representatives who sell Mary Kay cosmetics on the Suncoast say their business is doing well, despite the tough economy.

In fact, business is so good, two Suncoast Mary Kay directors are doing so well they earned brand new pink Cadillacs.

Ruth Everhart knows first hand how to put the best face on a bad economy. “A woman can’t afford to go out a buy a new suit or a new outfit or weekly therapy, but she can afford a $13 lipstick.”

She sells makeup for the Mary Kay Cosmetic Company…lots of makeup, earning her second pink Cadillac. “Sales are still up and booming and growing. I’m earning more now with my Mary Kay business during the recession than I did when I was working full time in New York City in the 90’s.”

In the midst of declines in almost every other industry, makeup — at least affordable makeup — is taking off. “I’m up over 50% in my personal sales from last year,” says Hunniford, helping her earn her first pink Cadillac. “I’ve had people honk and dance next to me when they see it. You can’t be inconspicuous in a pink Cadillac. The secret to success is putting your passion into what you do.”
