Mom Invents For Other Moms

The phrase “necessity is the mother of invention” is especially true in the case of Rose Marie Iskowitz.

A one-time marketing and sales representative, Iskowitz had just given birth to her second child when the idea for a specially designed diaper changing station dubbed the Dipe N’ Go began to take shape, reports MyCentralJersey.com.

Since I was always on the go and I had an older child, I realized that a lot of the time I was really just changing the baby in the back in the hatch of my (sport utility vehicle),” Iskowitz said. “I found out that a lot of my friends were doing the same thing.”

Iskowitz said vehicles are often a cleaner alternative than restroom changing tables.

“I couldn’t believe there wasn’t a changing station for the car, and (the product) came to me as a visual of what it might look like,” Iskowitz said.

The invention has been a couple years in the making, from the prototype phase to the filing of a patent, Iskowitz said. The end result is a diaper changing station made from machine-washable fabric and designed for use in sport utility vehicles, mini-vans, crossovers and other hatch-back vehicles. Pockets can hold everything from diapers to wipes.
