Buffalo News:
One of the nation’s largest franchisees of Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants plans to completely renovate six local restaurants that it owns and build a new one in Hamburg, representing a significant upgrade for the Colonel’s recipe in the Buffalo area.
Treadwell Enterprises of Springfield, Mo., is in the midst of revamping a network of outdated restaurants that it acquired two years ago in New York and Ohio.
The privately owned franchisee — which operates 92 fast-food and casual dining restaurants, mostly KFC, in six states from Louisiana to New York — has 26 stores in Rochester, Buffalo and Toledo, Ohio, with about 600 employees among them.
It already rebuilt a store at 1175 Union Road in West Seneca, and, in six weeks, will reopen a former KFC at 170 Abbott Road in South Buffalo as a combined KFC and Taco Bell.
