Huggies Offers Money To Mompreneurs

AOL Small Business asks who better to help mompreneurs than a diaper company?

Kimberly-Clark’s Huggies recently announced the launch of the
Huggies MomInspired Grant Program, which will provide mothers with up to $15,000 total in seed capital and business resources to help turn their business ideas into reality.

In order to be eligible, companies do not have to be specifically diaper- or hygiene-related, but should serve the prenatal to 6-year-old set in some capacity, according to Huggies.

Why aren’t fathers able to get in on the grant action? Huggies pointed out that according to research from Babson College, U.S. women start businesses at nearly twice the rate of men, but only about 3 percent of them attract investments from venture capital.

The deadline for applications is June 9, 2010. Applicants have to be 21 years of age or older and live in the United States. Huggies plans to give up to $250,000 total to entrepreneurial moms through the grant program.
