Eric Schwarzkopf speaks softly and carries a big spatula – which he’ll sell to you for a reasonable price.

He’s the area’s first representative of Man Cave Worldwide, a manly phenomenon sweeping the nation and Minnesota.

As an adviser, Schwarzkopf will come into your home, cook a meal befitting a group of hungry men, demonstrate some grilling tips and try to sell you some man-type products – brats, steak, meat sticks – all while shooting the breeze and maybe tossing back a beer with you and your friends.

It’s a lot like Mary Kay and Tastefully Simple, direct marketing companies that cater to women in their homes, but at the same time completely different.

There are no pink cars, the Annandale man said, but if he sells enough Man Cave products he can win a manly trip to Horseshoe Bay Resort in Texas.

Schwarzkopf said in his first outing he made more than $1,000 in sales in one evening.
