The San Jose Mercury News checks in with the creator of Togetherville, a website often called “Facebook with training wheels.”
Although he declined to discuss figures, the website’s creator says parents are embracing the idea of a social networking site where they have the control.
The company, which just secured venture capital funding, says it plans on making money by introducing ‘T-bills’, a form of currency that resembles an allowance and lets kids buy virtual things within Togetherville.
Parents say one of the good things about ‘T-bills’ is that like a traditional allowance, they can be withheld for bad behavior.
