Mom Turns Doodles Into Eye Patch Fashion

One mom’s drawings have turned into a business and now she’s helping children deal with vision problems around the US reports KNDO KNDU.

Julia’s worn an eye patch her whole life, it makes her weak eye work to get stronger. She’s an outgoing and friendly six year old, her mom made sure of it.

“One of the things that I really felt was important in doing this for Julia was to have people make eye contact for her,” said Annie Agars, artist, Eye Doodles.

The patch that Julia wears to correct her vision is a plain band-aid material. So, Annie would draw on the patches to make them more friendly looking. She has a bachelors degree in fine art and has been drawing since she was young.

“And so I started doing little drawings on them and her eye doctors and people that would see her would say, oh my gosh that’s so great you should do something with that. So we started making stickers,” said Agars.

The eye-doodle stickers have kid friendly designs for girls and boys. As Julia demonstrates they’re easy to use.

Annie said her business is for a niche market, but there is a demand. She recently started selling the eye-patch stickers nationwide via her Web site.
