Noodle ‘Coozle’ Keeps It Cool

According to a story in The Friday Flyer, like many inventors, Brian Belden saw a need and created a solution to improve the lives of others.

While floating in Canyon Lake on a foam noodle last year on Memorial Day, Brian observed his friends shifting their beverages from hand to hand while trying to keep them out of the water. Looking at the noodle, which has a hole at each end, Brian came up with the idea to create a cup holder that would screw into the hole.

When Brian returned home, he immediately started making a prototype cup holder for the noodles, which are made of polyethylene foam and are sometimes referred to as a water log. Within a few days, he had a mold fabricated by a friend of his. He also began working with a patent attorney and eventually found a manufacturer in the United States.

The end result of his efforts is the “Coozle,” which comes in pink or blue, mounts inside the hole on one end of a hollow noodle and holds a beverage cup, can or bottle. The inspiration for the product name came from a combination of a coolie cup and a noodle.

“It takes time and money to develop a new product so we are thankful to those who have purchased a Coozle and encouraged us to move forward,” says Brian.
