Google Gives Buzz New Meaning

To make sure their worker bees understand the value of teamwork, Google has hired a company beekeeper (found by using, what else, a Google search), who oversees employees as they harvest honey from hives on the sprawling Mountain View campus.

The beekeeping club, which consists of four hives painted red, blue, yellow and green, is one of the more exotic of Google’s extracurricular activities says the San Jose Mercury News.

Always on top of a trend, Google employees say bee keeping is becoming hip as people learn more about honeybees and become less afraid of them.

The program also lets employees taste the fruits of their labor–the honey harvested from the hives is used in Google’s cafeteria.
