Tasti D-Lite, a
lower-calorie frozen dessert chain popularized thanks in part to references on TV shows “30 Rock†and “Sex and the City,†plans to open its first Missouri location in Columbia in October.
The company said Wednesday it is targeting Missouri for future expansion and wants to open as many as 60 Tasti D-Lite locations across the state, including 20 in St. Louis.
Columbia residents Todd and Carissa Neimeyer, owner of Neimeyer Properties, are the entrepreneurs behind the new franchise at 1201 Grindstone Parkway. Carissa Neimeyer also owns and operates nine rental properties in Columbia. She was previously the co-owner of an energy savings company that she started with her father but recently sold her share to focus on Tasti D-Lite.
