Home Parties Still Drawing a Crowd

Bellmore Patch:

Home parties are still thriving, and if you have not attended one in a while, you might be surprised by what you can buy at one.

The Pampered ChefThe women who work as home party consultants do it for a lot of the same reasons, like earning an extra or primary income or working the hours they choose, networking and the chance to win prizes. The only difference is the company they each work for.

Sue Newman has been a Pampered Chef consultant for over 10 years.

“I went to a party as a guest of someone’s and I couldn’t afford the things I wanted. The consultant told me what I could get for having my own party so I had one,” she said.

The company sells an array of kitchen products, bakeware, kitchen tools, cookbooks, etc. Newman, who lives in Bellmore with her husband and four children, said she has won many prizes as a full time Pampered Chef consultant over the years like jewelry, a gas grill and trips but it is the money she earns that drives her.

“I make a lot of money. I make more money doing this eight times a month than I did when I was working 45-50 hours a week as a programmer analyst,” she said.
