Bulgaria’s Happy Restaurants Plans To Enter Eastern Europe Market Through Franchising

Sofia Echo:

Bulgarian restaurant chain Happy is seeking to enter new markets through a franchise model, the company said as quoted by Dnevnik.

Under the planned scheme, Happy’s brand will be used by restaurant operators in return for payment.

The company is looking for potential partners in Turkey, Romania, Macedonia, Serbia, Russia and Ukraine, which are considered markets with huge potential, according to the company.

Currently, the company runs one restaurant abroad, located in Spain’s city of Barcelona, whose roll-out was financed with Happy’s own funds.

Happy, likely to emerge as the first Bulgarian chain to operate franchises abroad, said it has not determined the number of outlets to be opened, but said that a number of companies have shown interest in joining the franchise scheme.
