In a piece about the astounding success and growth of mini Chinese chain Xi’an Famous Foods
, the Wall Street Journal reports that the father and son duo behind the chain have plans to open a commissary in East Williamsburg soon that could supply both restaurants and grocery stores. The 5,000-square-foot space, which will be up and running early next year, will have both a kitchen and production facilities and they plan to apply to food regulators for permission to sell frozen dishes at local supermarkets. They’ve come a long way from having that single stall in a Flushing Mall!
