Boise Candle Company Riding Growth Spurt

Bloomburg Businessweek:

Scentsy Inc., which was founded in Meridian in 2004, has grown to a nationwide business with 2010 revenue projected at $380 million, the Idaho Statesman reported Tuesday.

The company manufactures a variety of fragrant, wickless candles that are heated in ceramic candle warmers. Inc. Magazine ranks the company No. 19 on its 2010 list of fastest-growing private companies in America.

Expansion plans include building a 105,000-square-foot warehouse in a business park in Meridian. An existing 56,000-square-foot building will be remodeled to accommodate new office and manufacturing space.

Another 6,000-square-foot building will be used for storage of liquid wax and be accessible by railroad with the addition of a new rail spur.

The new campus would provide a single location for 629 employees, company spokeswoman Alena Shea said.
