Area residents will soon have another choice when it comes to keeping in shape as Planet Fitness, which will be located in the former P&C Foods location in Stateway Plaza, will open its doors in late April.
“In there we’ll have probably over 120 pieces of cardio equipment, also some strength equipment thrown in there as well, with probably two or three circuits of strength equipment,†Robert Morris, franchisee of the Watertown Planet Fitness said.
The 19-year-old fitness franchise, based in Dover, N.H., opened its four-hundredth store in the Albany area last week, company spokesman John Craig said Friday.
“The key differentiation between us and most other gyms is two things: price and atmosphere,†Craig said.
Planet Fitness memberships will begin at $10 per month and the company focuses on its “Judgement Free Zone,†where Craig said members can feel comfortable exercising regardless of looks.
