Sometimes, with the correct combination of persistence, proper research, and luck, a business can explode in the best way. Tom Lindberg’s startup company Sir Grout has been an atom bomb—and is being recognized as such by the industry at large.

Sir Grout, a company that comes to one’s home to clean and refurbish grout and tile, has been explosively popular since its inception in 2005. Mr. Lindberg of New Milford began franchising in 2007, and in 2009 came to the attention of Entrepreneur Magazine, which lists the best startups and franchise businesses around the country based (in its own words) on “objective, quantifiable measures of a franchise operation; the most important factors include financial strength and stability, growth rate, and the size of the system.”
