Midtown’s Original Eppie’s Site Is Reopening As An IHOP

Sacramento Bee:

Sacramento’s original Eppie’s Restaurant site is coming back to life – as an IHOP.

The long-vacant midtown building at 30th and N streets will get a complete makeover in coming months and open with the new format by November, says Tariq Munir, an International House of Pancakes franchisee who also owns local Pinkberry and Johnny Rockets eateries.

“That neighborhood – midtown – is the heart of Sacramento and it really needs a breakfast house,” says Munir, who opened his first IHOP in 1992 and now has 22.

This one will be open 24 hours a day.
