Dallas Burger King Franchisee’s 18 Restaurants On Auction Block

Bizjournals.com (blog):

An auction will be held Wednesday for the 18 Dallas-area Burger King restaurants owned by Sunil Dharod, the culmination of an exit from a system that has been beset by lawsuits, slumping sales and hard feelings, the Dallas Morning News reported.

The Morning News reported that Dharod’s attorney said his client is being “pushed out” by the Miami-based Burger King so that his restaurants can be sold a franchisee the company holds in higher regard. Dharod put his Burger King holdings into bankruptcy rather than have Burger King take the restaurants.

Dharod was one of a group of Burger King franchisees who became disillusioned with the direction the company was going under its previous ownership.
