Franchise: Gold Mine For Risk Takers

Just retired but not tired, like those soldiers in post-2nd World War, who on their return, were looking for businesses in which to invest their severance packages, Malachi Odey, searches relentlessly for investment goldmines, with his pension as well.

Tired of the day’s fruitless search in and out of investment consulting firms in the scorching sun, he settles in an eatery on the ever-busy Marina on Lagos Island. Cooling off with his chilled bottle of coke, one of the attendants politely asks him to vacate his seat for someone. Of course, drama ensues upon his refusal. Getting to know that the person he is vacating the seat for is the owner of the place softens him.

“How, I thought this place is owned by a corporate body?” he queries. “No. I run a franchise of the eatery brand,” replies the youthful owner with a baritone voice.
