Berrylite, a home-grown frozen yogurt chain, is growing so fast that franchising its business now seems like the best way to expand.
Starting off with a kiosk at Jurong Point in 2008, the frozen yogurt store now has seven branches island-wide, four of which are franchises, including stores at Parkway Parade, Bugis+ and Northpoint.
“The system works because the quality and texture of our yogurt is consistent and operations at our outlets are easy to manage,” said chief executive officer Marc Ng, 34, who was educated in California, one of the early purveyors of frozen yogurt.
To kick-start the plan for both local and international expansion, Berrylite took up a loan from SPRING Singapore this year. The business was previously self-funded. More.
