Dunkin’ Donuts To Add A Bunch Of Locations

There are more than 7,000 Dunkin’ Donuts shops in the U.S., but only four in the Houston area.

The Canton, Mass.-based parent company is about to take care of the local shortage. It recently announced plans to open one new store here next year and 16 more by 2016. Locations have not been announced.

Nationally, the company plans to double its store count over the next 20 years. Dunkin’ Brands, which includes Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, posted sales of $8.4 billion last fiscal year.

The emphasis of Dunkin’ Donuts has evolved beyond coffee and doughnuts and now includes the likes of cappuccino and wraps.
