Mary Ann Donuts, Stark County’s oldest doughnut store chain, has launched a local franchise program that President Pat Welden anticipates expanding nationally.
To date, two franchise shops have opened here. In North Canton at the Marc’s Plaza, owners Tim and Becky Rodgers say the success of their traditional-style shop is due to the long-standing popularity of Mary Ann doughnuts.
A cafe-style shop in Southgate Plaza owned by Bill Smith offers the traditional Mary Ann menu, plus sandwiches and lunch items. Smith credits the company’s product quality and freshness with his success as a franchisee.
