7-Eleven Franchisee To Revamp, Expand Chain

Namnews:

Philippine Seven Corp, which operates the local 7-Eleven chain, has announced plans to spend over 1bn pesos (€19m) in 2012 to expand and refurbish its store network.

The company said it will look to open 180 net new stores, adding to its existing 690 outlets, with most of the growth coming in the Luzon area. It will also spend 300m-400m pesos on refurbishing the stores, adding measures such as more relaxed lighting and new trim for shelves and gondolas. The company noted that the revamp will see it “put more emphasis on our food service category, not on the packaged foods or the general merchandise”.
