A La Carte: Golden Frog Cafe Moves Into Former Trout Lily

GOLDEN FROG CAFE has moved from the North Old Capitol Plaza to the former TROUT LILY CAFE site at 218 S. Sixth St. Baked goods and breakfast items have been expanded.

“I hired a baker. We have muffins, cupcakes, cookies, bread pudding and mini Bundt cakes,” said owner Lori Dollar, who also owns grab-and-go sandwich shop COFFEE HOUSE TREATS & MORE at 319 E. Madison St.

Breakfast options at Golden Frog include quiche, Belgian waffles, bacon and eggs, cinnamon rolls and yogurt parfaits.

Among the lunch items are the chicken and waffle sandwich (diced chicken breast, maple-mayonnaise-bacon spread and Swiss cheese on waffles), Cuban sandwich, cream cheese and veggie sandwich, Millie’s Chili, salads, soups and sides (such as bacon-ranch potato salad and golden bean salad). A children’s menu has a hot dog, PBJ and cheese sandwich.
