Domino’s Pizza UK has taken a further bite into the European fast food market after buying the license to operate the pizza brand in Switzerland.
The company – which operates Domino’s UK, Irish and German franchises – said yesterday that it would pay SFr7m (£4.7m) to acquire the Swiss rights from Domino’s Pizza Switzerland AG, as well as taking over 12 outlets already operating within Switzerland.
Some SFr2m of the price is deferred for two years and subject to trading milestones. The deal also includes the exclusive rights to open stores in Austria, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg.
