‎Nanaimo Daily News:
A new business opened this week on the increasingly bustling Bowen Road corridor. But this business is a little different from the ones surrounding it in the Bowen Centre complex.
Mary Froom, 5, opened Mary’s Market on Wednesday outside of her mom’s shop, Kit N Caboodle Quality Children’s Consignment. It’s just a lemonade stand for now, but the young entrepreneur has plans to expand her markets into freezies and “other good stuff.” Mary’s mom Valerie Froom said her daughter is spending many days this summer at Kit N Caboodle and was getting restless so she thought she’s start her own business.
Mary said she plans to put her profits in a bank account to save for university.
“I want to be a Grade 2 teacher,” she said. “But I don’t know much Grade 2 stuff yet.”
