Cardboard furniture is the latest trend in office design

For the New Year you could become greener in the office by adapting to a new design trend. Many offices are now using cardboard furniture opposed to wood and metal products. This may sound odd but using cardboard furniture has many advantages. Be eco-friendly as well as cost effective, you can be experimental and have fun creating different designs.

Advantages and Disadvantages

One of the key advantages of using cardboard furniture is that your belongings will already be packed for easy transportation if you move. Creating storage from the cardboard can actually look visually appealing as well as being practical. There are companies that design cardboard furniture which have been done so well that it almost makes it hard to believe that they have been made from a material which we would usually just dispose of. The shelving storage has been cleverly designed as it doubly stores your belongings away.

There are many other forms of cupboard furniture available, even a bed! This invention is extremely useful as it is a great storage hub which discretely stores your things away. Although it does seem odd that a bed could be made out of cupboard and it is quite hard to imagine that it would be comfortable.

There is the obvious disadvantage that comes with cardboard furniture which is to avoid getting it wet. This could prove to be a hard task if you have a cardboard desk and are a regular coffee drinker! Another apparent disadvantage is that cardboard isn’t the sturdiest of materials meaning it won’t be able to hold too much weight, although judging from the examples shown this doesn’t seem to be the case.

This office furniture appears to be mainly built up of cardboard; the design looks smart and is quite impressive to look at. If you hold a lot of client meetings in your office then using cardboard furniture will give your business a great perception as it shows that you are thinking of the environment and actively doing your bit to help out. This then may get others noticing the office design trend which they may start doing themselves. Start the office trend for yourself and see if you could get the design emerging.

Being Green

If you think the idea of cardboard furniture seems a bit Ludacris but still want to do your bit for the environment then you could start off by buying recycled stationary. Memo Etc sells selected stationary with the green mark approval which makes it easy for you to start giving a helping hand to the environment. There are many other ways to do your bit to keep green in the office such as turning your computer off each night, use both sides of paper and turning lights off in unattended rooms. When going green, cardboard collection companies like Kwiksweep recycling 100% of waste collected. If every office across the globe started picking up these traits then it could affect the environment dramatically for the good and it will also save on money too.
