Turning Old Computer Cases into Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones

Courier-Life:

Holmen businessman Mike Niles calls his new business venture Computer Plastics Recycled, or CPR, a name that fittingly describes what Niles is doing with discarded computer and television cases — breathing new life into old plastic.

In the present computer-based world, people buy many different versions of personal computers during their lifetimes. Many people buy new technology each time there is an advance. So what happens to the plastic when those computers and TVs are discarded?

Now some are getting new lives as garden stepping stones, thanks to Niles. The recycled product, called Super Stone, was created with environmental preservation in mind. Niles’ new company takes the hard plastic cases, chops them down into half-inch pieces, then processes them into functional landscape stones.
