The Wean Machine Mashes Food For Babies On The Go

Weaning babies from the bottle and introducing real food can be a fun time for parents. They can to introduce new tastes into their child’s diet and try new, tasty mixtures. For some parents, this means making fresh baby foods. Now those parents can travel with their baby without resorting to jar foods when they use The Wean Machine.

This handy device is small enough to carry in a diaper bag, it comes with an attached spoon, and it makes putting together a healthy mashed meal for baby really simple. Best of all, it was invented by a mom who understands the needs of other parents.

I recently asked Tilly Beazeley a few questions about her company and the inspiration behind it.

Tell us a little about The Wean Machine.

The Wean Machine makes fresh healthy babyfood wherever you are.

What inspired it?

When my son was 4 months old, I found making baby food really messy and comburson, nothing really ticked all the boxes and there was nothing that would really be used when out and about.

How does it work?

The Wean Machine is very simple, it is fully self-contained so you can take it with you anywhere. All you do is fill, squeeze and feed your baby – it even has a spoon and bowl integrated. It is easy to clean and is dishwasher safe.

Tired parents may be more inclined to use jar baby food instead of using your product to make regular food edible for their child. Why should they try The Wean Machine?

The Wean Machine saves time and money – regardless of the quality, jarred or sachets of babyfood can be very expensive. The Wean Machine enourages families to eat together and then as babies each little and often, The Wean Machine promotes healthy eating as the best food is natural fruit and vegetables and so hopefully the whole family will eat more fruit and fresh vegetables.

Do you have any plans to add to your product line in the near future?

We are always looking at way to expand and after the huge success of the colourful hardboard books and bib-sets, we are looking to bring on more products next year.

What are some goals you’d like to accomplish?

I would like to continue helping parents through the ever changing advice and take some of the stresses out of weaning with innovation and also help parents and carers understand the importance of feeding babies and their children fresh healthy food.

What separates you from the competition?

The Wean Machine’s biggest competition is a fork – however, I am proud that we working forwards with a vision of encouraging families to eat together and at the point where it might be easier to buy a jar and compromise what you feed your baby or if you are travelling – The Wean Machine involves the baby in the family feast!

What are some lessons your business has taught you?

I have learnt that parents really want the bests for their children but the conflicting advice can make things so stressful – especially for first time parents.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Like having a child – nothing can prepare you for starting your own business – even the most prepared or confident business person – there is always so much to learn which is what makes it exciting.

Do you have any advice you’d like to offer fellow entrepreneurs who are just getting started?

Believe in yourself, listen and learn from others but also remember that time is of the essence.
