We recently spoke with Jack Hanks, CEO of Restore 24/7, and learned what a typical day is like for franchisees, where he sees the business headed in the next five years and what he looks for in potential franchisees.

What’s special about the Restore 24/7 franchise?

We are a general contracting franchise that is diverse in the types of business segments we operate in. We operate in six segments of construction — Insurance Restoration, Residential Rehabs, Property Management/Capital Improvement Repairs, 203K Remodels, Property Preservation and Home Warranty.


What is the idea behind the franchise?

We wanted to grow our brand and offer our services to customers and clients nationwide.

How does Restore 24/7 compare to its competition?

We operate in six different segments of construction opposed to only one segment like our competitors. We also offer larger geographical areas, so our franchisees are not competing with one another in the same market.

What do you look for in a potential franchisee?

An entrepreneurial spirit, a willingness to learn different aspects of construction and a marketing/sales background.

Where do you see the Restore 24/7 franchise in five years?

We would like to have 50-75 franchise locations up and running in major U.S. markets.

Can you describe a typical day in the life of a franchisee?

Fast-paced, working on different projects, managing job/crews, marketing the business, etc.

What’s your background?

I have 25 years of insurance restoration and sales experience. I have worked on hurricanes, fires, floods, large mold remediation, capital improvement and residential rehabs.

What motivates you to keep going?

To see the expansion of markets around the county and the continued growth of our business.

If you were to start again, what would you do differently?

I have made some hiring mistakes. In hindsight, I would have taken a different and slower approach at hiring.

Hard work and motivation.

What is the worst job you have ever had and what did you learn from it?

I was a plumbing apprentice during college. I learned how hard the field workers actually work. That motivated me to finish college.

What is one trend that really excites you?

That my property management clients are starting to spend money again on construction projects. This indicates that the construction market is heading in the right direction.
