1. Set a Timer for Yourself

There’s only so much information one person can take in at a time. After a certain amount of time, your brain will begin to grow tired and shut down. If you’re not actually taking in new information and processing it, then you’re not really studying.

Give yourself a set amount of time to study. Business owners normally have a hectic schedule, so it’s important to dedicate time to review the material. For instance, you’re not sure what length of studying time is right for you, then start out with 45 minutes. If you feel you can study longer next time, then go for an hour.

If you weren’t able to continue retaining information up until the timer went off, then cut it back to only 30 minutes of study time. It’ll be fun to see how much you can cover within the given time.

2. Learn More Efficiently with Music

Absolute silence while studying isn’t always the best studying method, although it may work for some. For others, complete silence can cause them to start thinking about anything and everything and become distracted by their own minds. Entrepreneurs often have family and children running around their house, which can make it difficult to focus.

However, listening to music can actually help you to study and drown out distracting voices. Try listening to classical music or acoustics. You don’t want to choose songs with lyrics, as this can become distracting and you won’t learn more efficiently.  Once you find the type of music that works best for you, you can begin to enjoy studying more.

3. Create Your Own Questions

Which facts or bits of information are you having trouble remembering? Turn these into questions to then quiz yourself. You can even create your own quiz online and take it multiple times until you ace it!

6. Choose an Ideal Study Time

You don’t want to study when your brain’s unable to focus. Study during a time when you’re energized and ready to learn. Also, make sure you’ve had enough to eat so your stomach is full and keep a bottle of water nearby to stay hydrated.

You should also put effort into selecting your study location as well. Find a place that helps you focus. Some study better inside a library. Others learn more efficiently at a picnic table in the park or inside their dorm room. Find your ideal study spot by trying a few different places and using a trial and error system.
