If you are new to bargain hunting at Macy’s, though, we are here to help. In fact, we have put together some great tips in the following post.

Buy from Macy’s Clearance Section

Whoever said the only good stuff on the racks and shelves at Macys was the full price stuff was not giving you sound advice at all. There is no reason why you should ever buy anything at its full recommended retail price (RRP) at Macy’s again. This is because most items eventually end up on clearance. The great thing is that it doesn’t even take that long for it to happen. On average, items often spend all of eight weeks before going into the clearance sale. In general, clearance items start at 40% off. But if you hold out a little longer, you could get 65% off.

Promo Codes and Coupons Are a Must

One of the best ways to save money on purchases, whether you are buying online or instore, is with Macys promo codes and coupons. One of the best is the In Store Savings Pass. (Of course you would have to be be making your way to a brick-and-mortar Macy’s to use one of these.) These often come with a coupon that offers an extra $10 off any purchase of $25 or more.

Hold Out for Macy’s One Day Sale

Like any store, Macy’s has various big sales days throughout the year. The Holiday Sales and Super Saturday are often the ones that most people tend to go crazy at. However, if you really want to benefit from those huge savings and get amazing bargains, you need to hold out for the One Day Sale.

This is the best of the best in terms of the sales Macy’s offers throughout the year. It happens every single month on a Saturday, and each is preceded with a preview day. (The preview day is the Friday before the big One Day Sale, when the sale actually starts.)

What kind of bargains can you expect? Well, although they are different each month, they normally include all 40% clearance products. They also include items that are marked down to 65% off. Think that is amazing? Well, the store then marks down all 65% off items even further.

Alternatively, what they regularly do is keep clearance items at the price they’ve been marked down to and then offer an extra 40% off. Regardless of what type of sales they are offering on any given One Day Sale, you will always find amazing savings.

Be Patient

Sometimes, the best things really do come to those who wait. That may mean visiting Macy’s and scoping out the items you like and holding out on buying them. The longer you hold out, as long as the items don’t get snapped up and go out of stock, the lower they will eventually go in price.

Consider a Macy’s Credit Card

Many people have their own opinions of store credit cards and we are not here to dispute them. But if you want to get an additional percentage off your Macy’s bill, using a Macy’s card is the best way to do it. You can often get between 10 and 20% off. However, don’t leave yourself in debt with a balance on the card, as their interest rates can often be around the 30% mark. Obviously, it is best to try and pay it off as soon as you can. In fact, you can even do so at the register.

But whatever you do, remember to take advantage of these great discounts at Macy’s.
