Boy Invents Way to Save Birds

An eighth grade Canadian boy has invented a plastic decal that will stop birds from flying into windows. The decal is painted ultraviolet, a color that is invisible to humans, but very visible to birds. It’s like putting a big stop sign in the middle of the window, ” Charlie Sobcov on CBC Radio.

500 million birds a year in Mexico, the U.S. and Canada were dying as a result of crashing into windows. Many deadly bird collision are with the windows of skyscrapers along their migratory paths.

I see birds fly into windows of buildings and even vehicles all the time. actually, i’ve had several birds hit the windows in our house, and one hit the windsheild of my car. I think this invention is not only good for the birds live’s that will be saved because of it, but also for the people who wont have to replace anymore windows or clean up after a bird has flown and crashed into a window.
