The Carbon Advice Group has launched what they say is the the world’s first multi-level affiliate carbon offset network today at CarbonAdviceGroup.com. It was only last week when I still didn’t really understand carbon trading so this is a very new opportunity. London-based Carbon Advice Group PLC has created a unique web-based service that enables individuals and businesses to take an active role in combating climate change. The site enables users to directly calculate their carbon footprint and immediately purchase offsets.
The Carbon Advice Group allows anyone to get involved and take an active role in the emerging green economy. The site also offers motivated social entrepreneurs a short process to set up their own merchant site to promote and sell carbon offsets as part of the Carbon Advice Group’s network.
“We want to motivate the average person in the street to get online, build their own site and get the message across to everyone they know,” says serial Social Entrepreneur and Carbon Advice Group founder Matthew Sullivan.
The Carbon Advice Group’s mission is to create a worldwide network of social entrepreneurs by giving them the necessary tools, understanding and motivation for them to bring carbon emission reduction and offsetting into the mainstream and make it a vital part of everyday life. Allowing individuals to promote, purchase or provide carbon offsets, the group offers a compelling answer to the “What can I do?” response to global climate change issues.
Carbon offsetting enables individuals and businesses to compensate for unavoidable emissions by purchasing equivalent greenhouse gas savings. With the Carbon Advice Group, these savings can come from wind power, biomass power, or a renewable energy charitable contribution.

I’m not sure what you mean about carbon offsets negatively affecting our environment but I want to address your concerns directly.
Our philosophy is that people and businesses should reduce where they can, cutting carbon emissions and damaging effects to the environment.
But we also know it isn’t possible to create zero carbon emissions, so OFFSET your unavoidable carbon emissions.
Even further, we believe that individuals should be able to take charge of and benefit from selling these carbon offsets, thus we created the Carbon Advice Group to bring together carbon offset vendors.

Carbon Advice Group, great looking web design and direct selling concept, Matthew Sullivan has done a superb job. My hat of to him.
But
To call this an MLM ( multi-level-marketing ) is just plain not right. Why ?
MLM allows its participants to develop large sales teams, through referrals and be paid on their activity and those people’s teams activities.
Carbon Advice Group is an Affiliate program, with no referral commission system or commissions paid on group sales.. Carbon advice group give you a free web site to promote and sell their product and when you sell some product you get a small commission.
And that is not multi-level because,
MLM is called MLM because it pays commissions down multiple generations of people through a genealogy much like a family tree. It’s also generates multiple streams of income based on sales activity from group sales and generational achievements.
So if we compare what MLM really is, to what the blog here calls it and Carbon Advice Group calls it there is a big difference and a misleading communication.
In saying that Mathew is a little ahead of his time and in an envious position because the Carbon market is a perfect fit for MLM but not so much direct sales like Carbon Advice Group is offering because that only offers leverage to the Carbon Advice Group and not the sales people joining Carbon Advice Group.
The real power is with referral based word of mouth marketing because everybody is talking about climate change and global warming.. It’s being talked about at the highest levels of government, to the man on the street.
In MLM you get paid to talk and invite.
I guarantee you MLM industry leaders will get behind the Climate change issue and they will love the idea of being able to earn million dollar annual incomes through the emerging Carbon industry.
All credit to the MLM companies that have driven and created today’s Multibillion dollar MLM industry with the big three products such as, weight loss, skin care and health juices.
However, and this is something to think about if you a leader in the MLM industry with a large organisation, when was the last time government leaders from around the world got together for a world summit on weight loss, skin care and health juices, crisis talks ?
I think Global Warming and Climate Change is the most talked about and powerful galvanising force next to religion at present and as religion fades in the minds of today’s modern people they become more concerned with issue’s that direct affect their freedom, lifestyle, security and future.
