Kids & Business Keep Single Mom Going Top Speed

thespectrum.com:

During a time when bad news seems to outweigh the good in many cases, many people are looking for an inspirational story to lift their spirits.

Look no further than Kenna Bowler, a designated super, single mom who is raising three children while operating a booming hair salon called Kountry Kut’n in Brookside and leading a breakneck schedule so quick it would make legendary drag racer Shirley Muldowney seem like a slow poke.

While Bowler might take in stride what others view as monumental, the pace that includes endless rodeo events for her children Brittnee, 18, Ty, 15, and Tallen, 11, has customers, friends and anyone else within view shaking their heads. It’s a lightning-like environment and proof that the family who works together stays together.

Brittnee was a cheerleader in high school and wants to pursue a career in the culinary field, while the boys are both active in rodeo events. Tallen is the go-to guy for those needing help with their cattle and he’s been doing that since he was 8.

Just to make this an even more-inspiring story, Kenna Bowler has a blood condition.

But don’t expect her to complain. She’s too busy taking care of her children and business to worry about her own issues. The fact that she had a mini-stroke in her mid-30s illustrates her never-say-die attitude toward life.

Friend and customer Kathy Vause echoes the words of many when she said of Bowler, “She is one of the hardest-working entrepreneurs I have ever known and she’s a giver always – way beyond other people.

“Kenna is very conscientious and caring.”
