Moms Made For Friendship And Partnership In Business

Naperville Sun:

Kristy Brezinsky and Kristen Frederick have paired their two favorite pastimes: fashion and fundraisers.

Frederick, 40, met Brezinsky about four years ago after a mutual friend hooked them up, saying the two women were meant to be friends. Each had a background in fashion design and modeling — skills the two women have parlayed to produce Two K Productions. The fashion event planning company helps bring Naperville businesses to the forefront but also sponsors an annual fundraising event that supports various agencies in the area.

“We were approached by a couple of merchants here in Naperville about getting them more exposure and marketing them, and Kristy and I had also been thinking pretty much about the same thing,” Frederick said. “Ideas began to sort of flow together, and in addition to working with local businesses, we decided to have this Fashion Week event here in Naperville that we turned into a fundraiser for local groups.”

Last year’s Fashion Week netted $3,600 in funds, which Brezinsky said was impressive because most fundraisers take about three years to turn a profit.

“We’re already planning our strategies now for this year, including adding at least one more charity group to the list we plan to support,” Brezinsky said.
