After an absence of nearly a decade, the Domino’s pizza chain has re-established a presence in Sault Ste. Marie.
A storefront opened Sunday on Northern Avenue just west of Great Northern Road, after a staff training day Saturday that included pizza and bread giveaways.
Franchisee Clint Burdeniuk, who moved here from Manitoba Dec. 1, acknowledged he’s heard from many locals about the struggles food chains seem to have had in the Sault.
“We hear a mix of things. We’ve heard ‘Thank goodness there’s finally a chain here’ and we’ve also heard the other way,” said Burdeniuk, who operates the business with wife Jill.
