Passion Parties Are Here To Stay

The Daily Evergreen Online:

Senior Rebecca DeVere describes her first experience with passion parties like being “a kid in a candy store.” DeVere, a communication major, hosted a passion party with her friends and became so enthralled with the idea that she decided to get more involved.

“A passion party is a fun way to spend the evening with friends, where you can be given tasteful demonstrations about sensual products,” she said. Since her first experience three years ago, DeVere has developed her own small business with the company Passion Parties, Inc.

Passion Parties, Inc. is a franchise represented in the United States and Canada. DeVere became a consultant and now does passion parties in the Pullman-Moscow area. She also does work in her hometown, Seattle. “You basically own your own business, but you have support from a higher company,” she said. When she first started, DeVere had to put her own money down to obtain the items demonstrated for the parties. “There are different sized kits available, so you can choose which one suits you,” she said. “It’s a small investment with a quick return.” DeVere said on average you can earn back the money you put down in one or two parties. Besides having fun with friends, DeVere looks at passion parties as a way to serve the community.

“Of course, there are people that might be uncomfortable with what I sell,” she said. “But the parties are more designed to educate women, so they can enhance their intimacy.” She said times are changing, and intimacy is no longer just about the man. Women should be empowered to take control of their sensual lives.

Passion parties are hosted at homes to create a comfortable environment for women, DeVere said.
