Muskegon Chronicle – MLive.com:
California last week became the nation’s battleground over how restaurant chains market to children. One controversy involves obvious kid magnet McDonald’s. Another, a bit more surprisingly, involves Hooters.
On Wednesday, a Sacramento mother, along with the Center for Science in the Public Interest, sued McDonald’s for what they called the deceptive marketing of Happy Meals. By including a toy with every meal, the plaintiffs argue, McDonald’s is insidiously coercing kids into eating its food and making it too hard for parents to stop it.
