Rice, who along with his wife, Brenda, started the lawn care company Weed Man in Mississauga as a teenager with little more than a $500 loan and an old pickup truck, died of a heart attack last Thursday in Naples, Florida. He was 62.
Prior to his death, Rice grew the company to the point where it now has more than 330 franchises across Canada, the United States and United Kingdom.
