Marcus Investments, a firm formed by the Marcus family here, announced today that it has acquired Verlo Mattress Factory Stores, the franchisor that supports more than 40 Verlo stores around the country.
The investors did not disclose the terms of the deal for Verlo, which they described as the nation’s only franchisee model in the $8 billion sleep specialty industry.
Verlo will now be based in Milwaukee, moving from Fort Atkinson, Wis. In a press release, the new owners said Chris Nolte will be CEO, Thomas Cass president and Scott Baitinger chief marketing officer.
Marcus Investments said the deal will provide financial and business support functions to help stimulate growth for franchisee operators, while continuing to improve consumer experiences.
