Jackson Clarion Ledger:
Ruby Tuesday at Northpark in Ridgeland, a staple at the mall for more than 20 years, has closed amid a weak economy in which cash-strapped consumers are dining out less often.
The chain’s Northpark restaurant was shuttered Monday, according to mall general manager Audrie Thompson.
She said the closing is “not a surprise, given the economic environment that we’re in. We were pleased with their business, and we were glad to have them here. This was not a Northpark issue. It’s an economic issue.”Ruby Tuesday had operated at the Ridgeland shopping mall since 1985, and the search has begun to find a replacement tenant, Thompson said.
