Mickelson Bidding For Breakfast Chain

AZ Central.com:

Phil Mickelson is reportedly among those bidding for a chain of breakfast restaurants.

SouthEast Waffles, with 105 restaurants in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Kentucky, filed for bankruptcy protection in August 2008 and several groups are filing competing bids, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The newspaper is reporting that Waffle House offered $21.4 million last month, while GS Acquisitions followed with a $20.2 million bid. GS Acquisitions has Mickelson as a principal, along with Steve Loy, CEO of Gaylord Sports Management and Mickelson’s coach during his college golf career at ASU, and Terry Pefanis, former COO of Big Idea, which produced the animated series Veggie Tales.
