The Dayton-area Smashburger franchisee is looking to open a second area location near the University of Dayton in University Place before the end of the year.
Amy Kessling — vice president of operations and co-owner of West Chester-based Rodenkirch Management Group, the Smashburger Master LLC franchisee — said a lease is being negotiated for 2,000 square feet of space near the corner of Brown and Stewart streets.
The first local Smashburger, in The Shoppes at 725 near the Dayton Mall, was announced in June. That location is currently under construction and expected to open in mid-October.
