Little Gym To Join In National Children’s Book Week

Franchise Key:

The Little Gym franchise has announced that it has linked up with local libraries to host free Read & Rumble sessions during National Children’s Book Week (6-12 October, 2009). Specially tailored for children under three, the sessions are, the company says, a great way to encourage a love of books and physical activity from an early age. According to the information provided, the sessions will take place at The Little Gym’s OFSTED-registered centres, across the UK, with all money raised being donated to charities including The Roald Dahl Foundation and The Donna Louise Trust.

Now in its 77th year, Children’s Book Week is a national celebration of reading. This year’s theme is “Rhythm and Rhyme” and each Read & Rumble session will follow a story, music and games format: Firstly, the youngsters will experience the wonder of books with a story to fuel their imaginations. Then, they take part in an activity session in the purpose-built gymnasium, where they can explore the story through music, movement and rhyme, using colourful props and costumes.
